WINTER Skiing in CRESTED BUTTE

3 Nights Lodging at the CRISTIANA GUESTHAUS
Jan. 13th, 14th &15th, 2026 (leaving Jan. 16th AM)

You can’t do better than Crested Butte this winter, whether you are looking to downhill or cross-country ski. Crested Butte is the place for you! CB is a cross-country skier’s dream, with over 50 K (30 miles) of groomed trails in town and many others in the vicinity. Crested Butte Mountain Resort (Mount Crested
Butte) is a premier downhill resort that specializes in intermediate terrain with plentiful expert and easy terrain.
Please join us for a great time in a great ski town. We will be staying in Crested Butte town at the Cristiana Guesthaus for 3 midweek nights January 13, 14, &15 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) with check out on Friday the 16th, 2025.

The trip cost includes an ample morning continental breakfast each day with homemade breakfast breads, mixed fresh fruit, juices (including fresh squeezed orange juice), granola and yogurt, HB eggs and oatmeal each morning. Lunches and dinners are on your own. There are no cross-country trail passes or downhill lift tickets included in the trip cost. The Nordic Center day pass is free for those 70+ and reduced for those 65-69.
Lift tickets at Mt. Crested Butte are on the Epic Pass for downhill skiers. If you do not have that pass, you can still come – there are online discounts through Mt. Crested Butte to avoid the full ticket window price and FSC members have shared buddy passes.
There are five rooms which can accommodate single persons with a non-related (a total of 10). If you are interested in a room with a roommate (Single+Double room), seek and arrange for your own roommate, as the trip leaders are not assigning roommates. If you don’t have an idea, contact the trip leaders so we can give suggestions and make known that you are looking for one. We ask that roommates talk over between themselves and formally agree to room together.
To be a participant in the trip, you must sign up with the trip leaders as part of the FSC ski trip sign-up process that begins October 1. Those staying anywhere else than the Cristiana must pay a $20.00 Participant’s Fee to receive trip communications and attend any trip activities (including Happy Hour). That fee does not include breakfast, or any amenity privileges at the Cristiana.
Cost: $376.00 per person double occupancy. Single people wishing to room with someone else must find her/his own roommate.
$492.00 single occupancy (Queen)

Payment/Deadline: Non-refundable $50 deposit per person due after the October membership ski trip meeting until October 8. Note that inquiries and checks received after October 8 will not be processed until October 27 – the trip leaders will not be available during that period. Final payment due December 3rd either at the meeting or by mail to the Paris’.
Checks: Make deposit and final payment checks out to the Flatirons Ski
Club. Please write 2026 Winter Crested Butte in the note line.

Please call or e-mail Linda or Chris Paris with question.

STEAMBOAT
January  19-22, 2026

The club will be staying again at the very nice Homewood Suites by Hilton for our Steamboat Trip this January 19 – 22. We check in on Monday and leave Thursday morning. All of the rooms are very spacious with two queen beds and have complete kitchens. Members can prepare their own meals, if they so choose. The hotel does provide a nice hot breakfast every morning including
different protein choices. The free public shuttle bus that runs three times an hour up to the base of the Steamboat ski area stops just out the front door and across the street. There is no need to walk on icy sidewalks. The bus also runs downtown for those who want to shop or eat dinner. This is the nicest hotel and closest to the ski lifts that the club has for the ski season. This gives us a good
chance of getting some fresh tracks.
Steamboat is a big resort and it has something for all kinds of skiers from green runs to steep double blacks and lots of tree skiing. Come and enjoy another fun FSC trip! The hotel also provides a fitness center for those who need more exercise and a nice indoor hot tub and pool that feels really good after a day of enjoying Steamboat’s legendary champagne powder – no guarantees for snow
conditions. We can use their breakfast room for our happy hour and potluck the first night.
The cost this year for the three nights per person is $445, which is $30 less than last year. Sign-ups begin at the October 1 general meeting. Please have a check made out to Flatirons Ski Club for the $150 deposit. See you at the meeting.

Snowy Range 2026
February 24 to 26 (2 nights)

Snowy Range Ski Area lies within Medicine Bow National Forest in the beautiful
Snowy Range mountains of southeast Wyoming, about 35 miles west of Laramie. It offers downhill runs serving all abilities of alpine skiers as well as groomed trails for cross country skiing. Besides the Snowy Range ski area, there are dozens of miles of state-maintained trails in other parts of Medicine Bow National Forest, thus providing cross-country skiers and snowshoers on this trip many close-by options. Getting to Snowy Range Ski Area generally is a low-stress, 2 1/2-hour drive from Boulder with no mountain passes or tunnels to navigate.

We will stay in Centennial WY at The Old Corral Hotel (2750 Hwy 130/Snowy Range Scenic Byway), which has a “rustic yet modern” charm and is just 4 miles from the ski area. The trip fee of $150 is based on a double occupancy room (2 queen beds, shower/tub, mini-fridge) and includes “Happy Hour” snacks at the Bear Bottom Bar & Grill, a 3-minute walk from our hotel. The Old Corral has a common/breakfast area with microwave ovens, toasters, coffee makers, etc. Bear Bottom and Mountain View Historic Hotel & Cafe are dine-out breakfast options.

There are usually few people skiing mid-week at Snowy Range and it’s a nice change of pace from I-70 traffic, crowded slopes and distant x-country and snow-shoeing options. Another really great thing is the price of the adult (18-69 yrs) midweek day ticket: just $54 (online purchase) and skiers 70+ ski for free! Please join us as we ski Snowy Range Ski Area, Wyoming this 2026 season.

Leadville Ski Trip
March 10 to 12, 2026

Welcome Downhill and Cross-Country Skiers! Please join us on the year’s final “mid-week” ski trip during the snowiest month of the year. This year we will be staying again at the Columbine Inn & Suites located in Leadville. This old town is on Hwy 91, a half hour past the Copper Mountain ski area.

Clean double queen rooms with fridge, private bath. We have access to their breakfast room for our happy hour for both evenings. The breakfast room and lobby have a microwave. Breakfast is minimal as classic continental always is.

Cross-Country Skiers: There are 3 X-Country areas within 20 minutes of our lodge.

The farthest of the three is in the parking lot of Ski Cooper and it is a complete resort.

Downhill Skiers: Ski Cooper is different, in all the right ways! Soft all-natural snow,

terrain variety for everyone, laid-back atmosphere, family-friendly vibe, great food & drinks, and reasonable prices. The FSC club uses a few lifts: you can see, be seen or change FSC groups all day. Very social! We meet for lunch at the only lodge on picnic benches at 12:30 PM. Powder days happen every year, we do fresh tracks till late afternoon. It is very different from “Mega areas” to which you have been to.

Let’s go “Retro Areas”! Drive 9 miles, 12 minutes from lodge to slopes.

Lift Tickets: Cooper is not on EPIC pass nor IKON pass. For age 75+ is free, 69-74 is $25 (season pass), else window price is $90. Loveland pass belongs to Powder Alliance which includes 3 free days at Ski Cooper.

Location Connections: some members ski on arrival or departure days at the following areas: Copper, A-Basin, Keystone, Vail or Beaver Creek. Tell me.

Cost: Shared double queen is $215, single queen is $350. Deposit: $50 is due November 5th. Balance: $165 or $300 respectively is due January 7 at FSC meetings. Let me know your roommate preference.

Please make checks (preferred by leader to any ePay) payable to Flatirons Ski Club and mail them to:
