Who are we?
We are a not-for-profit organization formed to provide members with opportunities for the enjoyment of skiing and other recreational and social activities, and to encourage good sportsmanship and camaraderie in these activities. We are operated entirely by volunteers and we publish a monthly newsletter for members detailing all upcoming events.
The Club was originally formed in 1963 by a group of Lake Eldora Ski Area instructors who called it the Lake Eldora Ski club. The purpose was to involve more people in skiing thru social activity and parties. Eight years later in February 1971 the membership voted to change the name to Flatirons Ski Club to reflect that the club had acquired diversified interests and no longer wanted to be associated with a single local ski area.
Flatirons Ski Club Activities
Flatirons Ski Club activities offer thrilling experiences like tackling bike trails, conquering scenic hiking terrains, navigating local waters by canoe and kayak, enjoying the outdoors, and embracing the excitement of winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing, all culminating in lively celebrations with friends. There are also weekly and monthly schedule events around town for those wanting to stay closer to home.
